How to choose the right ERP for your business

An ERP is one of the highest-leverage decisions a growing business makes — and one of the easiest to get wrong. The right system becomes a single source of truth for finance, inventory and operations; the wrong one becomes expensive shelfware. The difference usually comes down to process, not software.

Start with your actual workflows, not a feature list. Map how an order moves from quote to cash, how stock is received and counted, and where your team currently wastes time in spreadsheets. The modules you need — accounting, inventory, purchasing, sales, fixed assets — should fall out of that map, and anything beyond it is a distraction for now.

Then weigh the practical realities for the region: VAT compliance, bilingual (English/Arabic) interfaces, role-based security and a clean audit trail. A cloud-based system with a mobile app keeps the business visible wherever you are, and a customer portal turns invoicing and statements into self-service.

Finally, plan the migration. Clean your data first, run the new system in parallel for a cycle, and train people on the workflows they'll actually use. Implementation — not licensing — is where ERP projects succeed or fail, so pick a partner who owns that with you.
